03.05.2013 – Crowd Fun Tournee geht weiter!
Am Sa 4.Mai folgt unser “Auftritt” #4, Mala & FyrMoon macht Strassenmusik an der Seepromenade in Zürich. Falls es noch für uns Platz hat, starten wir ca 14h am Bürkliplatz Schiffssteg. Freuen uns auf spontane Erlebnisse!

Die Liebhaberei steht 2013 unter dem Motto “Back to the fifties”. In unseren Räumlichkeiten sehen Sie Kleider, Fotografien sowie Möbel, die an die Zeit der 50er Jahre erinnern. Musikalisch haben wir für Sie ein passendes Programm zusammengestellt, Leckerbissen, die Sie nicht verpassen sollten! Und was uns besonders freut: Miss Mala is in the barn! Die Künstlerin Mala hat für die Liebhaberei das Stück „Let The Good Times Roll“ neu interpretiert. Sie hören den Song auf unserer Website und natürlich dann live am Konzert „in the barn“ im Oktober.

Folk in Heaven, Pieterlen, 2 December 2012
“Anyone who has seen Mala and FyrMoon in concert knows how difficult it is to describe all the things that make their concerts so special. The three band members bring unique personalities and distinctive skills to the stage but more than their individual contributions as singers, songwriters and instrumentalists, it is the musical interplay, the well-arranged original compositions and the interaction with their audience that make Mala Cornelia Gassman, Stefan Behler and Vincent Zurkinden such a compelling act.
They immediately won their audience’s hearts at their Folk in Heaven concert in Pieterlen (BE) on the 2nd of December. Incorporating elements of bluegrass, pop and folk into their show, the two tightly-crafted sets included lively up-tempo fiddle tunes, evocative ballads and intelligent, often humorous original material. Mala exchanged dynamic fiddle solos with Stefan, who has established himself as one of Europe’s most creative flat-picking guitarists. Providing solid rhythm, upright bassist Vincent delivered powerful bass lines, strong vocals and outstanding original songs, including the memorable “I want somebody just like me”.
Mala and FyrMoon are particularly adept at ensemble playing and singing. Singing into a single vocal microphone, they listened closely to each other and remained closely focused on the performance of every song in the repertoire. Lead singing chores were shared and each of the members of the trio is a multi-instrumentalist. In addition to her trademark fiddling, Mala played guitar and mandolin, Stefan added Dobro and mandolin and on some songs, he swapped instruments with Vincent and took over the bass duties.
Guitarist Mathias Weil, who mixes sound at the Folk in Heaven concerts, observed that “everyone in Mala and FyrMoon is a very good musician but they’re one of those interesting bands where the whole is really greater than the sum of the parts. Their arrangements have been done in a way that capitalizes on the strengths of each member of the trio.”

Folk in Heaven concerts take place in Pieterlen on the first Sunday of each month from September through May at 17:00. Singer/songwriter Gus MacGregor will return in January; in February, Tabea Anderfuhren will perform with her band, Elenor; harp guitar guru Stephen Bennett will be in Pieterlen in March and superstar fingerpicking duo Loren and Mark will play in Switzerland for the first time with their Folk in Heaven concert in April.
